COVID-19 Safety Information
The safety and health of National Ambient Air Monitoring Conference attendees is our greatest concern. Our goal is to conduct the safest conference possible. We cannot forecast COVID-19's impact in August at this point. We will comply with city, state and federal guidance regarding gatherings and will expect all attendees to do so as well. We will update this page continuously as we receive updates.
UPDATE - 8/19/22
As of today (August 19, 2022), the CDC Covid Data Tracker reports a High Covid-19 community transmission level in Allegheny County (Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania. The Centers for Disease Control recommends that people wear masks indoors in public and on public transportation when in areas with a high community level. EPA employees and other Federal staff will be required to wear masks inside during the conference proceedings, per Agency policy. We request that attendees wear masks during proceedings unless speaking or presenting on stage. This request is made with the health and safety of all attendees in mind as we look forward to being together again in Pittsburgh. Please come prepared and bring masks with you. There will be a limited supply of masks available at the registration desk if you need one. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Please be safe and responsible. If you are feeling unwell or test positive for Covid-19, please do not attend the conference.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will conference attendees be required to have the COVID-19 vaccine?
Although not currently required, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) strongly recommends that people get fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and EPA supports CDC's position with regards to conference attendees. While exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present, per the CDC, vaccines are safe and highly effective at protecting people from the severe effects of COVID-19, and getting fully vaccinated may help protect people around you. The CDC recommends preventive measures for unvaccinated individuals; thus conference organizers and EPA encourages conference attendees to follow all relevant CDC guidance with regards to COVID-19. For more information see www.cdc.gov.
Will attendees be required to wear masks during the conference?
In addition to adhering to CDC guidelines, NAAMC organizers are also following local mandates relating to public health and safety. If Pittsburgh, the county, or state of Pennsylvania is under a mask mandate, then we will comply, and expect attendees to comply with mask wearing as well.
